Alan Jukes has been hit with parking fines as he searches for places to sleep in his Renault Clio.
A pensioner has been forced to live in his car, after a dodgy shoulder left him unable to work or afford his rent.
Alan was evicted from his home in Longton, Staffordshire two years ago, after his mum died. He was forced to quit his job as a Tesco driver due to his dodgy shoulder leaving him unable to afford to pay his rent. He said: "I’ve worked hard for over 40 years and this is how I get treated. It’s a small Renault. There are two seats at the back and two at the front. It isn’t very big for sleeping in. My shoulders, back and hips are knackered.
“I just would like to be treated like a human being. When you find yourself trying to get benefits, you’re fighting against the system all over with no break of light anywhere.”The council confirmed Alan remains on its housing register but said it no longer has to house him in hotels at taxpayers' expense, claiming he turned down one of the properties offered to him without a legitimate reason.
