Leeds United raised over £100m through selling Gray, Summerville and Rutter this summer
Signing four players in the final eight days of the summer transfer market helped Leeds United end a trying window on a relatively positive note. Largie Ramazani, Manor Solomon and Ao Tanaka and Isaac Schmidt all look good pick-ups in positions that needed to be addressed.
Daniel Farke did not get the No 10 he desired after a huge summer clear-out. The overhaul was more extensive than anticipated. Twenty five players have moved on to pastures new.The high-profile sales of Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter were not in the script. It was hoped the Whites would only lose one of the crown jewels to ensure they stayed within the confines of the English Football League's Profitability and Sustainability regulations.
Summerville has been used from off the bench in the Hammers defeats to Aston Villa and Manchester City. The 22-year-old did not get on during their 2-0 triumph at Crystal Palace.Georginio Rutter The Frenchman waved goodbye to United following their Carabao Cup humbling to Middlesbrough. His £40m switch to Brighton and Hove Albion was finalised two days after the Seagulls strolled to a 3-0 opening day win at Everton.
The Seagulls have an array of attacking talent at his disposal, meaning Rutter may have to continue to bide his time and wait for an opportunity to stake a claim.
