Greater Manchester residents should prepare for a prolonged period of frigid weather as temperatures continue to drop. The Met Office predicts widespread freezing conditions for the remainder of the week and into the weekend, with daytime highs only reaching 3C to 5C. Evening temperatures are expected to plummet to or below freezing, with wind chill making it feel as cold as -5C in some areas. Expect mainly dry and cloudy conditions with occasional sunny intervals.
Temperatures are set to plummet across Greater Manchester as February's chilly spell continues. Conditions have felt icy cold at times over the past two weeks, with bracing winds bringing a bitter chill to the region. The Met Office says more cold weather is set to continue for the end of the week and over the weekend. Temperatures will hit highs between 3C and 5C across Greater Manchester today (February 13), before falling to overnight lows of zero or below.
But the 'feels like' temperature, which includes how wind and humidity affect the conditions we feel outside, will be cooler throughout the day. Conditions will feel as cold as -3C in areas including Bolton and Oldham tonight. In Oldham and Rochdale, temperatures won't feel like they are above freezing, the Met Office says. A dry, cloudy day is expected throughout Greater Manchester, with sunny intervals. Temperatures will fall further on Friday morning, when an icy start is expected across the region. Conditions will feel as low as -5C in some areas as people get ready for work and school. The Met Office forecast for each Greater Manchester borough on Thursday, February 13
