Powerful gusts are expected to batter Greater Manchester tomorrow
A weather warning has been issued as Greater Manchester braces itself to be battered by Storm Lilian with strong winds and heavy rain forecast.
The heavy winds could cause damage to buildings, power cuts while transport services may also be affected, the Met Office has warned. The public are being advised to be aware of flying debris, which may cause injuries and a danger to life. "These winds are likely to affect major routes such as the M6, A66 and A1, as well as potentially impacting infrastructure. As well as the strong winds, some locally heavy rainfall will add to the difficult travel conditions.
