More 200 tremors have been detected over the past few days

Extra flights have been put on from the Greek island of Santorini as increased seismic activity has sparked earthquake concerns.

Aegean Airlines has added two extra flights to its schedule from Santorini to Athens for Monday and Tuesday as people try to leave the island, local news site ekathimerini.com reports. On February 2 the UK Foreign Office issued an update for British travellers which said: "The Greek Ministry of Civil Protection has issued advice for Santorini , Anafi, Ios and Amorgos, following increased seismic activity in the area.

"The Greek Ministry advises people to avoid the ports of Amoudi, Armeni, Korfos and Old Port in the area of Fira and to choose safe routes when travelling, particularly in areas where the landslide risk is high. In case of a strong tremor, people should immediately depart coastal areas.Santorini is part of a series of volcanic islands, known as the Hellenic Volcanic Arc, with the last major eruption taking place in the 1950s.
