Gregg Wallace's healthy-eating website, GreggWallace.health, is facing criticism from users who report difficulties cancelling subscriptions and obtaining refunds. While some praise the service and content, others express frustration over automatic renewals and unresponsive customer support.
TV chef Gregg Wallace has responded to disgruntled customers criticizing his healthy-eating website, following complaints about poor customer service and refund issues. The 60-year-old, who stepped down as co-host of MasterChef last November, launched the fitness site back in 2020 after he impressively lost five stone 'without going on a diet'. He later rebranded it to GreggWallace.health which, according to the site description, offers 'sustainable lifestyle changes'.
The website states: 'Our platform is a testament to the belief that achieving wellness shouldn't be a struggle. With over 450 nutritious recipes, insights from health specialists, and a vibrant community, we've created a sanctuary for those looking to transform their lives.' However, after a wave of complaints from customers struggling with automatic subscription renewals and seeking refunds, a spokesperson told Metro: 'The membership renewal policy is very clear and we send out reminder notices by email before any money is taken. Anyone who feels they've been incorrectly charged should contact us and we'll be happy to resolve the situation.' They added: 'Gregg Wallace Health has helped many people, with thousands of members now leading happier and healthier lives.', reports the Mirror. Customers can choose from a monthly, six-monthly, or annual plan to access all the resources, with an annual subscription costing £89.99 and the option to 'cancel anytime'. Yet, some disgruntled customers have reported difficulties in cancelling their subscriptions and obtaining refunds. 'Getting no reply on email for a refund. Customer service terrible and would not recommend them,' one dissatisfied Trustpilot user posted in a scathing review. 'Renewed my membership and took the money without any warning, tried to resolve amicably many times but the customer service was horrific and unprofessional,' another unhappy customer expressed. 'They took membership renewal money with no notice and are ignoring my daily emails to get it back,' chimed in another reviewer, echoing the frustration over unauthorized renewals and 'terrible customer service'. On the flip side, some customers have been thrilled with the service. 'A first-class service all round, plus the support of others in the group is phenomenal,' a satisfied member praised. 'So much choice of wonderful food, easy to use website and unrivalled support. This plan is so easy to follow and really works,' enthused another happy subscriber. Another satisfied user wrote, 'I joined late June this year, after trying so many 'fad' diets and them not working. I am glad I did, this is the life-changing plan that I needed to kickstart me onto the road for a better and healthier lifestyle.' The website's refund policy offers a 'freemium version', allowing potential users to try before they buy, but makes it clear that 'refunds are not provided once you have accessed our full intellectual property'. It also states that while 'membership can be cancelled', due to the immediate access to a vast recipe bank, expert advice, and diet framework, these services do not come with a standard cooling-off period. This criticism of the presenter's website comes on the heels of a challenging time for the star, who stepped down from Masterchef - a show he had co-hosted with John Torode since 2005 - last November. His replacement was announced as chef and I'm A Celeb... star Grace Dent. The decision comes after alleged sexual misconduct claims from 13 women spanning 17 years, including Kirsty Wark and Ulrika Jonsson. The ex-BBC host was accused of making 'inappropriate sexual jokes', asking for the contact details of female production team members, undressing 'too close' to women on the show, and 'groping' three women in separate incidents. His reps have released a statement denying the allegations, stating 'it is entirely false that he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature'
