The Cleveland Guardians are acquiring right-handed starting pitcher Alex Cobb from the San Francisco Giants.
's Jeff Passan was first to report the news of the trade. Going back to San Francisco is minor league pitcher Jacob Bresnahan and a player to be named later.Cobb underwent hip surgery this past offseason and is yet to pitch this season. The 26-year-old had one of his best years as a pro in 2023, though, going 7-5 with a 3.87 ERA across 151.1 innings. He made his first All-Star appearance in what was his 12th season in Major League Baseball.
