Manchester City return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon and could not have asked for a bigger clash following the international break
Before the international break, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola stressed that his players must be careful not to overexert themselves in what were only friendly matches.
All this followed the worrying Erling Haaland video from Norway training where he appeared to be struggling, albeit he did feature in both of Norway's international fixtures. The amount of issues City picked up during the past week to ten days is why some are branding this a nightmare international break for Guardiola but there could be some solace to be found for the Blues.None of the issues appear to be particularly long-term.
It could well be nothing to worry about but Guardiola would undoubtedly have preferred to see Haaland remain on the sidelines and allowed to rest ahead of what is destined to be a busy final few months of the season. If he is 50:50, the one match Guardiola will risk him for is this big clash against Arsenal.Ederson; Walker, Stones, Dias, Ake; Rodri, Kovacic; Bernardo, Foden, Doku; Haaland.
