Up to 3,000 bikers are expected to take part
Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers is set to be honoured by a motorcycling community with a special ride out.
The ride out will start from Beverley's Saturday Market at 10.30am on Saturday, April 7, and follow a route up to Scarborough similar to the one taken by Dave and Si in BBC Two's The Hairy Bikers Go North. The organiser of Biker Escorts East Yorkshire, Paul Quigley, said up to 3,000 bikers may turn up if the weather on Sunday is fair.
Talking about Dave, Paul said: "I think he means a great deal because he was just a normal and regular bloke who loved cooking and really enjoyed his motorbikes too. Everyone has a soft spot for him, for both of them really." Paul said his group has lots of experience of escorting ride outs and they have managed large numbers before. "We have informed the police of what we are planning and they are letting us get on with it," he said.
