Reports of issues began around 5.30am on Monday, February 3, with the majority of problems related to funds transfer. Customers expressed frustration on social media, highlighting the disruption to their daily lives. Halifax apologized for the inconvenience and promised to restore services as quickly as possible.

Halifax's banking app has reportedly gone down, leaving hundreds of desperate customers unable to access their bank accounts.

More than 400 people have detailed struggles with making and receiving payments on the site, which tracks outages and issues with a range of services across the UK. The majority of the problems - 79 per cent - concern funds transfer, while 14 per cent and seven per cent have run into trouble with their mobile and online banking.

A second scribed: "So you are choosing to ignore some customers then? I need to pay my credit card with the funds I cannot access because the transfers are f****d! Are you going to pay my interest??????" Halifax has apologised for the issue. A spokesperson explained: "We know some customers are having issues making or receiving payments. We're sorry for this and are working to have everything back to normal.It comes at the same time as the Lloyds banking app reportedly going down, with the same amount of consumers - more than 400 since the early hours of this morning - "unable to make or receive payments".
