Sophie Cooper, managing director at Harley Street Skin Clinic, has provided clarity in an effort to dismantle some widespread misconceptions. She commented: "In a world overflowing with skincare advice and trends, it's easy to come across false information. Understanding the facts behind common myths can empower you to make informed choices for healthier skin."
The skincare expert was eager to debunk the myth that "not washing your face causes acne". She acknowledged there's "some truth to it," but clarified it's "not entirely factual". Next, she tackled the belief that "eye creams aren't effective". Sophie explained: "Eye creams are worthwhile for many reasons. The skin around your eyes is extremely sensitive and delicate, eye creams are formulated specifically for this reason."
"UVA rays, which contribute to skin ageing and damage, remain consistent year-round. Using sunscreen daily, regardless of the season, protects your skin from long-term damage and reduces the risk of skin cancer."
