A 16-year-old footballer who’s signed a professional contract with Motherwell FC has decided to future-proof his career by staying on at school and continuing his studies.

He said: “Obviously I want to be a professional footballer until I’m 35 to 40. But if that doesn’t work out, or if I get injured, or I don’t do as well as I’d imagined, I’d feel like I’m smart enough to get a good job and still do well in my life.” A former Cambusnethan Talbot player, Harry has dreams of not only of playing for Motherwell but also one day pulling on the dark blue of Scotland.
