Manchester United star Harry Maguire's home was flooded on New Year's Day as heavy rainfall caused widespread damage and evacuations across the UK.
England ace Harry Maguire was among hundreds of flood victims after his £4 million home was hit by the New Year's Day deluge. But hours after the clocks struck midnight, Maguire woke to find his landscaped gardens underwater amid torrential downpours. 'They'd all had a wonderful night marking the New Year and went off to bed.It certainly wasn't the start to the year they had expected, but Harry knows it was a lot worse for others.
An entire month's worth of rain fell in just 48 hours, forecasters said yesterday as the clear-up operation began. Extraordinary aerial footage showed water cascading across nearby fields in the village of Little Bollington. Mountain rescue teams were also deployed to help. Chief Fire Officer Dave Russel said: 'The flooding on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day caused considerable damage and disruption.'Over the past 36 hours, fire crews have worked tirelessly to keep people safe.
