David Fifita’s club coach has revealed the full extent of his delayed concussion symptoms ahead of State of Origin game two selections.
Queensland star David Fifita reportedly suffered for “a couple of days with headaches” as a result of possible delayed concussion symptoms following his State of Origin comeback.
David Fifita – pictured with Reece Walsh – experienced concussion symptoms after the Titans’ defeat to South Sydney on Saturday night.Fifita’s only absence will be his side’s NRL clash with Wests Tigers on Thursday night. As a result, Holbrook has opted to rest Fifita and keep rookie prospect Klese Haas in the No.11 jumper as a health precaution. However, he said Fifita was not at risk of missing Queensland’s bid to clinch the Origin series at Suncorp Stadium.“He just finished the game with some headaches and just pulled up for a couple of days with headaches, so we thought there’s no point trying to get him to back up for a short turnaround,” Holbrook said.
But the Titans coach admitted a positional shift could be on the cards for his attacking linchpin should his woes persist.Brimson was used at five-eighth for much of last season, however Holbrook believed Jayden Campbell, who came through the ranks in the No.1 jumper, was the better fit in the halves.AJ Brimson is “so important to our side”, says Titans coach Justin Holbrook.“The whole time I’ve been here with AJ, he’s so important to our side.
