Leah Bridge, a mother from England, is struggling to cope with the loss of her son, Albie, who tragically died in a farm accident involving a faulty telehandler operated by his father, Neil Speakman. Despite Speakman's conviction for breaching health and safety regulations, he was cleared of gross negligence manslaughter, leaving Leah heartbroken and searching for answers.

Leah Bridge is still struggling to navigate life without her son Albie after he was tragically killed in an accident involving a farm vehicle operated by his father, Neil Speakman. The incident occurred at a yard next to a small garden area at the front of a farmhouse on Bentley Hall Road, Walshaw. Albie would stay at the farm on alternate weekends, and Leah would drop him off each morning. On July 16, around 9am, Leah encountered Speakman at the farm entrance to hand over Albie.

Speakman took his son out to run some errands before returning to the farm around 11:45am. While Speakman was operating a telehandler, shifting bags of woodchip, he accidentally struck Albie. Speakman reversed the machine, feeling a thud, and upon seeing Albie's legs, realized the severity of the situation. He immediately carried Albie inside and rushed him to Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, but sadly, Albie did not survive. Two and a half years later, Leah welcomed her second son, Ebon, but she finds herself unable to look at him due to the fear that he might resemble Albie. She is trapped in a loop of grief, reliving the day of the accident over and over. 'It just feels like it happened yesterday,' Leah shared through tears. 'There's not a day where I don't think about it. I'm still there and I have to be without him now forever.' Speakman faced trial at Minshull Street Crown Court, admitting to breaching the Health and Safety at Work Act. He acknowledged not doing enough 'to ensure the health and safety of Albie, so far as is reasonably practical.' However, he pleaded not guilty to gross negligence manslaughter. Speakman expressed remorse, stating 'I messed up, I made a mistake. It's one bit of human error for a split second which has ruined my life.' The court heard that the telehandler involved in the incident was faulty and did not meet minimum safety standards. The prosecution argued that Albie's death was a result of his father's negligence, which created a serious and obvious risk of death. While Speakman was cleared of gross negligence manslaughter, he faces sentencing for the health and safety breach he admitted. Leah expressed her heartbreak and disappointment with the verdict, stating, 'I feel as though Albie has been let down. I'm so disappointed. It's hard to explain. I don't even know where I go from here.' The trial may be over, but Leah continues to relive the events of that day, haunted by the unanswered questions surrounding her son's final moments
