Heinz has announced the discontinuation of its popular Weight Watchers frozen meal range, citing a strategic decision to streamline its UK portfolio. The decision has disappointed many customers who relied on these lower-calorie options.
Heinz has made the decision to discontinue its popular Weight Watchers frozen meal range, leaving many customers disappointed. The company, known for its wide range of frozen foods, soups, and condiments, confirmed the end of the line to its consumers, reports Birmingham Live.
One dismayed user took to X, formerly the platform known as Twitter, questioning: 'Hi can you advise whether frozen weight watchers meals are discontinued, particularly sweet and Sour Chicken and Chicken and Broccoli melt.' Heinz representatives informed The Sun that the range had indeed been terminated and recognized that this decision would leave devoted fans feeling 'disappointed'. The representatives explained: 'We've taken the strategic decision to streamline our UK portfolio which includes discontinuing our frozen line with Weight Watchers. This change will enable us to focus on the product lines that deliver the most value for our customers and pave the way for new innovation that meets changing consumer tastes, lifestyle needs and preferences.' An Asda shopper had previously given a glowing four-star review to the Lasagne, saying: 'I buy this lasagne regularly, as it tastes good and is low calories. The portion is quite small so I have salad or veg with it.' Nonetheless, another customer was less impressed, complaining: 'Hardly any meat and what it had was bouncy horrible texture, two sheets of pasta, only thing good was the taste of sauce, won't be gaining weight from this for sure.' 'I have been buying WW meals for years and next to my favourite, this is my second choice. It is very tasty though mind you the picture on the box never looks anything like how it comes out of my microwave but I just accept it. However, I do find it tasty which is so important when cutting calories,' another customer shared. 'This item, was very tasty, calories already stated on the box, easy to follow instructions,' added another. The range includes dishes such as Chicken Curry, Beef Lasagne, and Sweet and Sour Chicken
