The Ship Inn, a historic pub dating back to 1750, has reopened after a refurbishment with a new focus on providing a lively atmosphere and delicious food and drinks.
The Ship Inn pub has reopened just in time for Christmas. The venue is located canal-side in Downholland between Ormskirk and Southport. The pub has enjoyed an incredibly long life and was first built in 1750, with the first cut of the canal made just yards away. The Ship Inn boasts a beer garden overlooking the canal and an outside bar. The pub closed several months ago for a lengthy refurbishment with new owners taking control of the venue.
Now, the Ship Inn has reopened and welcomes customers to enjoy themselves once again over the Christmas holidays. The pub is now under the care of Ship Inn Leisure LTD who promise to instil a 'new lease of life' to the venue. A new food and drink menu has been crafted which will be available alongside regular live events, bands, DJs and entertainment. A spokesperson for Ship Inn Leisure LTD said ' We are delighted to be bringing this historic pub back to life. We have run with a sympathetic refurbishment, sticking with the origins of this historic pub. Opening just in time for the Christmas period we look forward to welcoming patrons both old and new.
