Documents said the building had been shut for at least three years, and the change of use would not have a detrimental impact on the local community. Developers Rugby Property Assets Limited previously said the ground floor would reopen as a pub, and that the work would "respect the existing historic fabric of the building".When the town of Craven Arms grew with the arrival of the railway in the 19th Century, it took its name from the building.The ground floor currently consists of two large bar areas, a breakfast room, a large carvery, kitchen, and toilets.
