HMRC have announced the date of the first payment
The official date when people will receive the next cost of living payment has been announced by HM Revenue and Customs .
A total cash boost of £9,000 is set to be paid to those eligible with the dates for this payment for those who claim Tax Credits from HMRC and no other Department for Work and Pensions benefits. For those claiming any means-tested DWP benefits, the first payment will be paid a little earlier between April 25 and May 17.
If you are eligible, the payment will show on your bank statement as "HMRC COLS" and will go into the same account where you normally receive your Tax Credit payments. "HMRC will pay eligible tax credit customers automatically and with no action required from the customer, to make this as simple and helpful as it can possibly be."
