A man was seriously injured after his car was left completely crushed in a horror collision with a HGV in Wigan on Thursday night .
Pictures from the scene show the wreckage that was left after the crash. The driver of the Astra, a man aged in his 20s, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital from the scene. His condition is not described as life-threatening. GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and are now asking for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to get in touch.
Pictures shared on X by Carl Haslam, Station Commander for Farnworth and Atherton Fire Stations, showed the aftermath of the major crash. Commending the work of crews at the scene, he wrote: "Excellent work early this morning by crews from Wigan and Leigh in wet, dark conditions."
