A man and a child were left with burns injuries after a Volvo burst into flames at the roadside in Wigan on Monday .
The car, a Volvo XC40 mild hybrid petrol, erupted into the flames at the roadside as horrified onlookers watched on. The cause of the blaze has not been confirmed.Greater Manchester Police confirmed that two passengers were taken to hospital with burns injuries in the incident, as the North West Ambulance Service said those injured were a man and a child.
A spokesperson for the car manufacturer said: "Volvo Car UK is aware of a vehicle fire that occurred on Monday 15 July, involving a Volvo XC40 mild hybrid petrol. The driver and passengers have sustained injuries which they are receiving treatment for.
