West Yorkshire Police received reports a man had been stabbed in Fir Tree Approach, Moortown, on Tuesday afternoon. Armed officers responded to the incident where a 27-year-old man was found with serious injuries. The man was rushed to hospital.
Police are looking for four suspects involved with the attack, who fled the scene. The suspects were described as four males, aged late teens to early twenties, wearing dark clothing with balaclavas covering their faces.A West Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "At 4.45pm yesterday, police were contacted by the ambulance service who had been called to an incident in Fir Tree Approach, Moortown, where a man had been stabbed.
"Armed officers were deployed to the scene to secure the victim and search the area for four suspects who had run off. The victim, a 27-year-old man, had been attacked with a machete near to junction with Fir Tree Green and received serious wounds to his hand and forearm. He was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries were not considered life threatening.
"Detectives from Leeds District CID are carrying out enquiries to identify those responsible. The suspects were described as four males, aged late teens to early twenties, wearing dark clothing with balaclavas covering their faces."
