Wallace Hunter, 75, from Eaglesham, East Renfrewshire, suffered catastrophic injuries after being trapped in a scalding hot bath at the Pitlochry Hydro Hotel in Perthshire.
A hotel worker has revealed how she never stopped trying to break down a bolted door to rescue a grandfather who had become trapped in a scalding bath.
Desperate efforts were made to save Mr Hunter but he sadly died after suffering third degree burns to 83 per cent of his body in the incident. Wallace Hunter and his son Kier Hunter. A guest in the room below raised the alarm after seeing hot water 'cascading' down the mirror of his own bathroom while shaving. She told procurator fiscal depute Gail Adair: 'The sounds became lower. I never stopped trying to get in.'
