There could be stormy conditions later according to the Met Office
Temperatures are expected to hit 39C in Northampton today as the heatwave continues in the county. The Met Office previously issued the UK’s first red weather warning for extreme heat.
Other areas that are due to see temperatures in the late 30s include Corby, Rushden, Wellingborough, Kettering and Daventry. The UK has experienced its warmest night yesterday on record, according to provisional Met Office figures.Temperatures didn't fall below 25C in places across the UK. Extra support for ambulance services, such as more call handlers and extra working hours, have been put in place while the chairman of the NHS Confederation said hospitals are going to be “really, really pushed” over the next few days due to the heat.
