Favor is the unique resource in Age of Mythology Retold, with every Civ boasting a different way to generate it.

Similar to the original game, Favor is used to invoke the power of the Gods and recruit Mythical units. But accumulating the resource can be confusing when you first start out, so we’ll explain how to get this all-important power source.
Greeks can generate Favor by assigning Villagers to play at the Temple. You can assign as many of them as you can fit around the structure, but each extra Villager brings diminishing returns after the first. Atlanteans generate Favor by building and maintaining Town Centers. That means that they are the only Civ that begins the game with a Favor-generating building from the start. Each additional Town Center you build will add to your resource generation.
Norse units also have a generation multiplier, making some more efficient than others. For example, Hersir are among the best land units to generate Favor, with Longboats doing the same at sea. Additionally, Hersir are the only Norse unit able to passively earn Favor out of combat after upgrading to Classical Age. That means that seeking out combat and playing aggressively is the main way for the Norse to get Favor from their Gods.
