Oxfam Scotland said the First Minister's failure to oppose new North Sea schemes and his government missing key climate targets put its international standing at risk.
Humza Yousaf’s climate credibility is on a “knife edge” over his government’s failure to oppose new oil and gas and meet Scottish emissions targets, campaigners have warned.
That’s aid funding for countries in the Global South most badly affected by the effects of the climate emergency, such as flooding, storms and wildfires. It comes as the FM has refused to unequivocally say he opposes new fossil fuel projects in the North Sea - although he previously said he is “not convinced” the controversial Rosebank oil field should go ahead.
The First Minister went on: “The truth is that we are collectively guilty of catastrophic negligence. Yousaf also revealed the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund will receive a further £300,000 to support communities in Malawi impacted by Storm Freddy.
