Remnants of Hurricane Ernesto expected to hit UK next week, bringing high winds and rain
The remnants of Hurricane Ernesto are likely to hit Yorkshire on Wednesday, bringing very windy conditions and rain, according to Huddersfield weatherman Paul Stevens .
The former Met Office forecaster, who is based in Huddersfield, tweeted his forecast on X, writing: "Monday starts off sunny but cloud will thicken from the west with some heavy rain by evening. It will become windy through the day."Tuesday bright and breezy and a few showers. Wednesday ex Hurricane Ernesto arrives with some very windy weather and rain.
"On Thursday we’ll start to see the remnants of ex-Hurricane Ernesto coming,” said Andrea Bishop, a Met Office spokesperson. Sunnier weather is expected this weekend with conditions fairly pleasant and some sunny spells in the South and windy, cooler and cloudier conditions in the North and Scotland.
