spokesperson Graeme Madge said: “On Sunday, we will start to see the influence of ex-tropical Hurricane Nigel, which will be offshore in the mid-Atlantic.winds to bring unsettled weatherHowever, Nigel could end up causing some good weather in the UK next week, due to its potential effect on the jet stream.: “Towards the end of this week and into next weekend, Nigel might actually impact on the jet stream, cause it to pivot.
“And it may well be that next week we settle down into some fine and warm weather again. So it just shows that different hurricanes can have different impacts on our weather.” The Met Office is predicting something similar, with an unsettled weekend giving way to more clement conditions early next week.Showers becoming more widespread during the morning, some locally heavy with the odd rumble of thunder. Showers merging to give longer spells of rain across west Scotland. Winds generally light but still strong and gusty across parts of the north-west.
