The district attorney said the man was known to the victim and was in a position of trust for the child.AUSTIN, Texas — A Hutto man has been sentenced to 99 years in prison for sexual assault of a child for a case involving a 14-year-old victim.
The 14-year-old victim suffered multiple instances of rape and assault by Gurrola in early 2021, Dick said. The incidents happened in a Hutto residence and in a vehicle Gurrola borrowed from a family member. The district attorney said Gurrola was known to the victim and was in a position of trust for the child. The victim made an initial outcry to her mother, who contacted theGurrola was arrested on unrelated charges in Round Rock on Oct. 4, 2021, and taken to the Williamson County Jail.
“The jury's verdict of 99 years is a testament to the severity of the crime committed and the enduring impact on the victim’s life,” said Dick. “We hope this sentence brings solace to the victim and serves as a stern warning to those who would perpetrate such heinous acts in our community. My office will continue in our unwavering pursuit of justice for survivors and their families to ensure that those who commit such reprehensible acts are held accountable.
