'I was left fighting for my life and my skin hanging off after electric heater exploded in garage causing horror burns.'
A MAN has revealed how his electric heater left him fighting for his life after it exploded and caused him horrific third-degree burns.
Ian's girlfriend Kelly Becks, 37, raced outside and believing he was going to die, she said her final goodbyes before he was airlifted to Salisbury Hospital, where he was in a coma for two weeks in November last year. “I also thought my hands and feet had been amputated. But on my second day of being awake, my burns physio came in and told me he wanted to see my hands, with a smile.
Due to his collapsed lung and pneumonia, the doctors decided not to give him skin grafts and allowed them to heal naturally, so he didn’t end up needing surgery. "I suffered post-traumatic stress disorder and it took the best part of a year for me to return to any kind of normal life.Credit: MDWfeatures / Ian EastonCredit: MDWfeatures / Ian Easton
