In addition, some have served as political appointees and changed the technology landscape. Over time, HBCUs added additional degree programs such as cybersecurity, which now requires major support and improvements.

Similarly, HBCUs' capabilities refer to their power to develop cyber professions. Their capabilities are defined by integrating funding, quality instruction, modern labs and learning resources. The outcome helps ensure that students are equipped for the workforce and can resolve cybersecurity issues.Cybersecurity concerns are prevalent across various sectors, including the workforce. This is due to the integration of technical capabilities and workforce tools.

While writing my book,"The Cybersecurity Mindset," embracing growth became a major discussion, and the concepts align with improving HBCUs' cybersecurity programs. This would require responsible entities, political appointees and grant funding agencies to realize that cyber protection requires a capable workforce. Some have regarded the process as having emotional intelligence , which is meaningful.reported that African Americans comprise only 9% of the cyber workforce.

IBM is one example of an organization taking a substantial leap in remediating such concerns. The company created the first-everhas also created a very valuable cybersecurity program and a partnership with government agencies. Despite these achievements, there is a significant gap in delivering cybersecurity curriculums. This gap could be remediated through obtaining workforce funding or grants.
