People from around the world headed north for the introduction to Utqiagvik, its past, present, and future, and how those might be sustained for generations to come. Along with hopes of sharing what life is like in the far north, the weekend tour was meant to help participants better understand what people in the region need — not only in order for delegates to be better informed, but also so that they might utilize knowledge gained from the experience when considering policy both regionally and internationally.
