It remains to be seen whether Dauphin County police and prosecutors will find anyone criminally liable for the April 26 death of Central Dauphin High School student Justin Johnson.
Accusing earlier editions of the board of helping to cause the problem, some speakers pointed back to a 2002 redrawing of the attendance boundaries within Central Dauphin that some critics even then worried would create mismatched demographics between Central Dauphin and Central Dauphin East high schools.
“How would you feel if your child came home crying because they were bullied for being Black, or crying because their teachers made them feel some type of way?” Cabbagestalk asked the board. Board President Mike Jacobs did open the meeting with a prepared statement in which he said the board and district administration shares in the Johnson’s family grief, is working with students to help them cope with their loss.
