Anne Kidd has been a familiar face to fans of the BBC drama Shetland since she first appeared on the show in the second season - but what else has she starred in and what is known of her life away from the cameras?
Shetland is making a comeback on BBC One, and the drama is intensifying as the ninth season nears its conclusion. The detective series has starred Anne Kidd in the role of forensic pathologist Cora McLean since its second season.
Her acting journey began in the 60s, leading her to feature in major shows such as Outlander and Vigil. One of her earliest roles was in Coronation Street, where she portrayed a ward nurse caring for street residents hospitalised following a coach crash on their return from the Lake District. She first gained recognition as Kitty in the series The Revenue Men in 1967, before starring in Dr Finlay's Casebook in the late 60s.
