Will Mellor is about to embark on a life-altering affair in the new series of Channel 5's The Teacher. The current series centres around art teacher Dani, who begins an affair with her friend and colleague Jimmy Spencer amidst the disappearance of a school pupil.
What roles are Will Mellor known for? Born and brought up in Bredbury in Stockport, the actor had aspirations to act from a young age. He played Ben Rowlingson in children's drama Children's Ward before joining Hollyoaks as James 'Jambo' Bolton. Family tragedy that led to him joining Strictly Come Dancing Will Mellor lost his sister Joanne in 2014 and opened up about his battle with depression following her passing. The Broadchurch and Line of Duty actor shared that he was in a "dark place" and confessed to excessive drinking and gambling.
Will Mellor has opened up about seizing life's opportunities, especially after experiencing personal loss. "I've got to an age where things have been happening around me - I lost my father and I lost my sister quite a while back - and I just got it into my head you've got to grab life. You've got to do things even if it frightens you."
Reflecting on his recent work, Mellor expressed satisfaction and a personal connection. "And I was chuffed to bits with the show. I loved it. And my mum's a big fan of the show, and I wanted to do stuff for her because she's had a tough time of it," he disclosed.
