An Israeli military spokesman has said airstrikes on Gaza will increase as the West Bank has come under attack overnight. It comes after lorries carrying food and medical supplies entered Gaza via the Rafah crossing from Egypt, but aid agencies warn far more must be done.
Israel has said 14 more communities in the north of the country should evacuate, the defence ministry and military said in a joint statement on Sunday.
But the Palestinian Red Cross, which received the aid, said the"miniscule" amount of aid is a"drop in the ocean" of what is needed, and a group of UN agencies agreed more aid is needed. Medical Aid for Palestinians warned 130 premature Gazan babies were in 'imminent danger' over a lack of fuel at hospitals.Israeli forces killed four Palestinians in the occupied West Bank overnight, the Palestinian health ministry has said.
Scheduled flights to and from Damascus and Aleppo airports were diverted to Latakia International Airport, the Ministry of Transportation said. "Analysis conducted independently by the Canadian Forces Intelligence Command indicates with a high degree of confidence that Israel did not strike the al Ahli hospital on 17 October 2023," it said in a statement.
Israel said the compound beneath al Ansar Mosque, in Jenin refugee camp, belonged to operatives from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
