Manchester's last remaining Crown Post Office has now shut forever
It's 5.45pm and the sun is setting in Manchester city centre - and on one of it's oldest institutions.
Meanwhile, the future of the iconic murals is still unclear, with all but one panel which has now been removed remaining in the building. The Post Office says they will be 'safely and securely' stored while they consider the best place for them to be displayed. He visits this Post Office regularly to buy stamps and to send parcels. One such parcel was addressed to the Kremlin in Moscow along with a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin advising him to rename the country 'Romancia' - a more 'feminine' name he prefers.
"It's going to be a bit of a nightmare to be honest," she said. "In the legal profession, it can be late in the day." He considers himself lucky as someone who can get online easily. But as an employee of the library, he's all too aware of digital illiteracy which sees many people unable to get basic services without face-to-face help, describing this as a 'prevalent problem'.
