He will be releasing his new album A Modern Day Distraction in September

Clifton musician Jake Bugg says he still loves to come home and visit friends and family when he can, and recently returned to watch the Euros final. The singer-songwriter will be releasing his sixth album A Modern Day Distraction on Friday, September 20, which goes back to the musical DNA of his first two albums.

Jake explained: "All of that was shot in Nottingham. I just felt like it captured some of the mood in the city, and it kind of reflected the vibe we were going for musically as well." The video also includes a few shots of England fans showing support for the football team. "I think just because I don't get to come back too often so when I do I spend it at home or friends' houses and things like that. So I don't really go out unless it's for like a nice quiet pint somewhere."

Adding: "We are playing Y Not on Friday, so we are really excited about that and looking forward to playing some of the new songs as well as the old ones." Speaking about his new album, Jake said he was feeling "excited" about it but that "there's a lot of apprehension and nerves that come along with it as well as you just never know how it's going to go or how it's going to be perceived.
