Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has been evacuated following a 'smoke bomb' explosion at a fishing harbour where he was due to give a speech.
Local media reported a loud explosion was heard after a man threw what appeared to be a"smoke bomb" among a crowd of hundreds of people.Kishida, who was set to deliver a campaign speech for an upcoming lower house by-election in the Wakayama 1st District, was unharmed during the incident.
The suspected smoke bomb went off about 11.25am and a man was arrested by police at the scene, Kyodo News reported.
