Debbie Duncan has addressed unfounded claims made about her son
Debbie Duncan, the devastated mother of Jay Slater, has spoken out against allegations that her son had 'stolen a £12,000 Rolex watch' prior to his disappearance in Tenerife. The Lancashire teen went missing on the Spanish island on June 17 while on holiday with friends.
Before his remains were found, several unfounded accusations circulated online about the teenager, including one theory that he had 'stolen a £12,000 Rolex watch' during a night out before he disappeared. Online rumours suggested he had become entangled with a drug cartel on the island.Debbie, 56, has now addressed these claims in an interview with The Sun, dismissing them as 'nonsense'. She stated: "He would never have been involved in anything like that.
He had journeyed to an Airbnb in Masca after a night out, but the two men who reportedly rented the property were later deemed 'not relevant' to the case. The Spanish Civil Guard suggested that Mr Slater may have fallen in the steep and inaccessible area where he was found.
