Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Uefa are right to block Jean-Clair Todibo’s move to Man United., the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted multi-club networks shouldn’t be able to “shuffle assets around” if they are playing in the same competition.
The Red Devils have been blocked by Uefa from buying centre-back Todibo from INEOS-owned Nice and in a new twist, United have, Sir Jim Ratcliffe said the Uefa rules are “not fair on the player and I don’t see what achieve”. “I think it’s right that these rules are in place, I understand the reasons for them being in place – and in this case, he’s fallen foul of the rules.”
