The former England midfielder has not been out of work long
Jermaine Jenas has joined talkSPORT shortly in the aftermath of his departure from the BBC . The ex-England midfielder's exit from the national broadcaster was announced on Thursday afternoon, August 22.
Clifton-born Jenas - who came through the academy at Nottingham Forest - will now be heard on talkSPORTs Drive show, co-hosting with ex-Liverpool player Jermaine Pennant, who himself grew up in The Meadows and signed for Arsenal from Notts County. While Jenas was a guest on talkSPORT previously, this marks his debut as a leading presenter. talkSPORT has been approached for further comment, reports the Mirror.
He was also prominent in the youth-focused spin-off MOTDx which was cancelled last season and featured in the coverage of Euro 2024 held in Germany. There had been speculation about Jenas potentially succeeding Gary Lineker as the main presenter for Match of the Day. In addition, he presents for Formula E events.
"It's a sport that revolves around sustainability and the excitement as well. When they asked me to do it, I was like, 'Look I've never seen this racing before. As much as I love F1, I'm going to have to do a lot of research and work into FE'.
