Midfielder hails the striker's contribution in thrilling draw with Linfield
Joe Crowe hailed the impact of two-goal hero Danny Purkis as Carrick Rangers put their midweek woes behind them producing an impressive display against Linfield coming from behind twice to earn a share of the spoils.
David Cushley and Purkis struck either side of a Chris Shields penalty and a Matthew Clarke strike in a thrilling first half.Ben Hall looked like he had secured the points for the Blues when he headed home in the 75th minute, but that man Purkis popped up again six minutes later to earn Carrick a draw.
Crowe heralded the striking qualities of his former Glentoran teammate and joked that Purkis wouldn't need to buy a drink if he was out in his native east Belfast on Saturday night."He's fit and can get across his man, and his finishing is great as he showed today with one with his head and the other with the outside of the boot.
"We had to go in on Thursday and question ourselves as we're all grown men and it's a senior team. We had to look at the reasons why we conceded those goals and I think we did that and we responded well today.
