John Lewis hands Blackburn youth group 'single biggest donation it has ever received'
John Lewis has handed an east Lancashire youth organisation a £100,000 Christmas gift to create dozens of jobs.
Cllr John Slater, leader of Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Conservative group, said: “This is fantastic news.” Stuart McDonald, the firm’s boss, said: “Herbert Parkinson is incredibly proud to be a social enterprise organisation which is passionate about giving back to the communities we serve. “Being able to apply for funding like this has only been made possible through the support of our patrons, including Herbert Parkinson. Their support really has been invaluable and will continue to be so.”
