John Swinney has ditched his long-standing SNP lapel badge in a bid to shed his reputation as a party bruiser.
Swinney took over at Bute House after Humza Yousaf’s botched handling of the decision to kick the Greens out of Government. He immediately called for greater cross-party cooperation and urged political rivals to work together.Swinney has proudly displayed an SNP badge for years and it was visible last week when he was sworn in at the Court of Session and during his first Cabinet meeting.The source said: “John said he would be First Minister for everyone and he meant it.”
