MANILA, Philippines: TNT may have entered training camp with a banged-up roster, but coach Jojo Lastimosa is sticking to the positives as the Tropang Giga prepare for the coming PBA Season 48.
The Tropang Giga kicked off training camp at Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna with big man Justin Chua and Poy Erram, as well as ailing shooter Roger Pogoy out, along with the continued absence of flamboyant Filipino-American guard Mikey Williams. But Lastimosa is glad to have former PBA Best Import and multi-titled Sean Chambers helping the TNT side prepare for the coming season.'Everything is doing great. It's easier to focus and get things done when you are here at Inspire.
Lastimosa has developed a strong bond with the 58-year-old Chambers since they played together with Alaska, helping the Fred Uytengsu-PBA franchise to multiple league titles, including the 1996 Grand Slam. The amiable TNT mentor said Chambers, a six-time PBA champion himself during his time as Alaska import, stressed the importance of going hard in practice every time.'To treat practice as important as the real game itself,' said Lastimosa, who as a player, won 10 PBA championships.
