Trent Alexander-Arnold 's stint in England's midfield may be coming to an end, and Jurgen Klopp has already weighed in on his potential replacement.
Gallagher, 24, replaced the Liverpool full-back during the games against Serbia and Denmark earlier in the competition. That suggests Southgate is ready to trust the Chelsea midfielder with reports claiming that Alexander-Arnold will be dropped from the starting XI and replaced by Gallagher for Tuesday's clash.
Speaking to journalists at the time, Klopp said: "So that's incredible quality and now in midfield, Kouyate back in his position, Gallagher I'm not sure you can still say he's a talent when he plays for U21s, but he's a really, really good player." Southgate also seems to be a fan, despite the competition in England's midfield. Alexander-Arnold has previously impressed in the middle of the park for his country, though there have been calls for natural midfield talents like Kobbie Mainoo and Adam Wharton to get their chances.
