Last October, 31-year-old Liam tragically died after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires. Since then, his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy , has avoided the public eye. But in a candid conversation with Clemmie Moodie from The Sun, she broke her silence about her final days with Liam and addressed her decision to leave the country days before his passing. On Thursday's This Morning, Clemmie spoke about the interview with Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley.
When asked about her impression of the young woman, the journalist shared: 'She was shy, she was very image conscious, which I think is normal for someone who is 25 years old and has grown up on camera 'That generation, that is their life. I got the impression that she was lovely, she was very sweet, she was very nervous. She didn't want to upset anyone or offend anyone. But, at the same time, she was so scared to get something wrong, and that was sad to see.' Clemmie pointed out how grief can have unusual effects on people, highlighting that Kate lost the love of her life at a young age, making the interview especially challenging. Kate's team had initially approached her for an interview in December. She added: 'For me, I think she wanted to pay tribute to Liam, to share and revel in their love and their joy and their love story.' Discussing the inaccuracies that have circulated since Liam's death, Clemmie mentioned that Kate aimed to set the record straight, reports the Mirror. Cat inquired: 'Do you think she regrets leaving? How do you think she's coping?' referencing that Kate and Liam were originally together in Argentina, with Kate departing to America four days before he died. Clemmie replied that asking Kate about her leaving Liam was the toughest question. 'She said, 'We were in such a great place, we were really happy; I had no indication that his mental health was wobbling',' recalls Clemmie. It turns out Kate had to fly back not because of any dispute but to care for their dog. Clemmie remarked on how emotional the conversation became, especially when Kate reflected on sudden moments of reality, sharing: 'Little things she said off the cuff, those were real moments of reflection and sincerity. That was really heart-breaking. She had her life mapped out'. Kate's vision of the future started fresh out of college. She imagined a globe-trotting life as a full-time influencer by the side of her partner-turned-husband and even dreamt of starting a family. At 25, all those dreams disappeared, leaving her grappling with fear.
