Lady Ghika has taken Kate’s place this year Princess Kate Middleton was replaced during the Irish Guards parade as she continues recovering from ‘abdominal surgery’. The Princess of Wales is honorary colonel of the regiment, and posted a St Patrick’s Day message as she’s missing the events this year. She is being replaced with Lady Ghika, wife of the regiment’s Major General Sir Chris Ghika.
