Former Home and Away star Kate Ritchie has stepped back from her radio presenting role, after publicly discussing her mental health struggles. The 46-year-old actress, who played Sally Fletcher on the Australian soap opera from 1988 to 2008 and briefly returned in 2013, has been hosting shows on Nova 96.9 since 2014, currently co-hosting the breakfast program Fitzy & Wippa with Ryan Fitzgerald and Michael Wipfli.
Last week, images obtained by Daily Mail Australia showed Ritchie driving to a bottle shop, picking up her daughter Mae from school, and then visiting a park. An emotional video also surfaced online, capturing her crying during a phone call and wiping tears from her eyes. While she was scheduled to return to her radio show, Ritchie has opted to prioritize her health. Taking to Instagram, she shared a heartfelt message explaining her decision to take a break. She acknowledged her struggles with mental health, stating that it has been a more significant challenge than anticipated.
